Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2026

El Contita ("we", "us") is a small bookkeeping service based in Mexico that serves US businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Contact details you send us by email or through a booking form: name, company, email, phone, number of doors or accounts and the software you use.
  • Client financial data we access while providing services, such as bank and trust activity, bills, receipts, tenant and owner ledgers, and vendor tax details (for example W-9 information).
  • Basic website data such as standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.

How we use it

We use contact details to answer you, schedule reviews and send quotes or materials you request. We use client financial data only to perform the bookkeeping services in our engagement agreement with you.

Confidentiality

We treat all client financial data as confidential. We share it only with people who need it to perform your services, with your instructions, or when required by law.

Access controls

Where possible we work inside your own systems using user accounts you create, control and can revoke at any time. We ask clients to grant only the access needed for the services.

Third-party platforms

We work in platforms you choose, such as QuickBooks Online, Buildium, AppFolio, Rentvine, Propertyware, Gusto, Bill.com and Tiller. Your data in those platforms is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We also use Google (Google Workspace/Gmail and Google Drive) for email and document exchange with you.

Cookies and analytics

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site. If we add privacy-friendly analytics such as Cloudflare Web Analytics, it is cookieless and reports only aggregate visit data. Our booking tool (Cal.com) is governed by its own privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

We keep client information for as long as we provide services and as needed to meet legal or professional obligations. When an engagement ends, you can ask us to return or delete information we hold, and you should remove our user access to your systems.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal or financial information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version.
