Terms of Service

Effective date: October 2026

These terms apply to services provided by El Contita, a bookkeeping service based in Mexico serving US businesses.

Services

The specific services, scope and price for each client are set out in a written engagement agreement. If the agreement and these terms conflict, the agreement controls.

Term and cancellation

After onboarding, service is month to month. Either party may cancel with 30 days' written notice.

Fees

  • Monthly fees follow the plan in your engagement agreement.
  • A one-time onboarding fee equal to your first month's plan (minimum $600) covers system setup, a chart of accounts review and your first reconciliation. If you stay with us 6 months, we credit it back.
  • Catch-up and cleanup work is quoted separately.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the source documents and information you provide, for approving payments and distributions, and for granting and removing system access.

Not tax or legal advice

Our services are bookkeeping services. We do not provide tax, legal or audit advice. Please consult a qualified CPA or attorney for those matters.

Confidentiality

We keep client information confidential as described in our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, El Contita is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the services in the three months before the claim.
